I just wanted to share with you why I have been so interested in raw honey as one of my favorite healthiest foods! Not just any ole honey, but RAW honey. It is one of the best things for you. I know I have been saying that everything is good for you, but no in all honestly. You should go get you some. Here’s why:
At first, I was not a honey lover AT ALL. I would always use sugar as my sweeteners. But, as I took on this healthy journey in my life I wanted to give honey another chance and it has become my favorite healthiest foods. I started out with buying just regular honey and that seemed to be a bit too sweet for me, and so I was hearing how beneficial raw honey is for you, so I tried it out. What I realized is you have to use a tad bit more of the raw honey than sugar to actually see how it can sweeten your drink or whatever else you may use it for (examples below). It is not bad at all, it is REALLY GOOD. I am so glad I made this decision to stick it out. Everyone deserves a second chance 🙂 Not only does it taste good but raw honey has so many health benefits.
Well first let me explain the difference between “honey” and “raw honey”. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
Honey: made by honeybee’s from the nectar of the plants that can sometimes be processed.
Raw honey: comes straight from the pollen grains. This is why it is called raw because it doesn’t get processed or filtered. It is pure, unheated, and unpasteurized. (Most labels will say this).
Now, as I move onto labels. If you are shooting to buy the raw honey there a couple of things you should look for on the jar. Oh, I’ve noticed that raw honey comes in a mason jar with a top and honey comes in a plastic bottle with a cap. You should make sure the label says:
Local honey-maker (typically a city in your state)
(I provided you all a picture up top so you can see what raw honey labels may consist of, I hope it helps! I realized I needed the picture when the jar was about empty as you can see lol)
Here are some quick benefits and facts about why raw honey is the top of my favorite healthiest foods:
-Helps soothe the throat when you are sick or have a sore throat (use this as a sweetner with hot tea)
-Helps with wounds, sores, scrapes, and burns
-Natural moisturizer and leaves skin smooth
-Packed with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids like antioxidants that do wonders for the body
-Good for a nice bubble bath
-Kills bacteria and germs
-Natural source of energy for your body!
-Great cooking sweetener
Those are just a few, I hope it makes you want to experience the good feeling I have when I am out and I buy healthy foods that are going to help my body! It feels AMAZING. This is why I share with you all what I experience because I am here to help you reach your highest potential as far as your health and wellness goals.
